We are blessed to have her education, professional background, and insight to support us with our Long COVID challenges. Dr. Vines also has Long COVID and truly understands how we feel.
For two and a half years, Dr. Vines was a consultant with Eisenhower Health to counsel nurses and doctors affected by service at the bedside during the pandemic. Dr. Vines facilitated a Long COVID Support Group that began with Eisenhower employees and is now open to anyone suffering with Long COVID.

Dr. Diane Vines is an adjunct faculty member at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) after retiring as Dean of Nursing at Mount Saint Mary’s University and serving on the faculty at the University of Portland and Boston University. Previously, Dr. Vines was vice chancellor and board secretary for the Oregon University System, dean of CSU Dominguez Hills School of Health and founder of the Oregon Governor’s Healthcare Workforce Initiative and the Oregon Simulation Alliance. She was also vice president for the California State University Institute, a White House Fellow assigned as special assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Education, and founder of the National Adult Literacy Initiative with Barbara Bush. Also, she was a faculty member at several prestigious universities, including running the community outreach program of the University of Portland. She also was the Director of Ambulatory Nursing at Boston Childrens Hospital, a community psychiatric nurse in the South Bronx and the Manhattan Bowery, and a staff nurse in the segregated hospital system in St. Petersburg, Florida during the desegregation movement.
For over four years, Dr. Vines has served as the director and principal investigator for the CSUSB Nursing Street Medicine Program in the Coachella Valley and San Bernardino. The Nursing Street Medicine Program provides free healthcare to vulnerable populations in the Valley including foot soaks for homeless people and migrant workers and their families. In this capacity, she serves as co-founder and co-director of the Coachella Valley Street Outreach Collaborative which encourages joint efforts among more than 30 organizations serving the homeless/unhoused people in the Valley.
In addition, she conducts behavioral health assessments for the CVAG Housing First program. She is also a counselor in private practice, a Rapid Resolution Therapist and a facilitator for SMART Recovery for persons with addictive behavior.
